Taj Fisherman's Cove - Things that caught my eye!

It was a weekend. I went to Taj Fisherman's Cove in Covelong, Chennai. After a tiring Corporate event, I was taking a self-tour of the facilities inside. Some of the things that people hardly notice, inspired me to click pictures.

On My Desk

When I had to stay indoors during a rainy day, the items on my desk became the ultimate killer of my boredom. I picked up the Camera and decided to turn those items into a 2 dimensional memory. Here it goes...

Platform 9 3/4 - Revealing the Invisible

It was a Saturday morning. I got a call from a colleague who recently a got a new camera. He was all excited for testing his new gadget and wanted me to accompany him. We had a discussion about where we can go for taking pictures and came up with a thought of visiting the Chennai Sub-urban Train Stations. We started at around 8 from Guindy and took a train till Chengalpet. We got down at almost all stations looking for subjects to focus and capture. Now, coming to the title of the post. This post has nothing to do with Harry Potter or J.K. Rowling (Bazinga!). I decided to name it "Platform 9 3/4" since it focuses on the things that most people ignore in a train station and those that are almost invisible to the busy eyes of everyday commuters. I leave the pictures to speak for itself. Cheers!

When I looked up!

Last Sunday, I went to Express Avenue to watch "Thor 2" in Escape Cinemas. After the movie, we decided to have something from "Gloria Jean's Coffee". On our way to the ground floor, I was wondering how Gloria Jean managed to establish her chain of coffee shops here in Chennai while so many native tea stall owners are still struggling with their roadside shops. Well, this post is not about how Gloria opened her shop in Chennai. When we finally reached the ground floor, I happened to walk through the centre of the mall. When I looked up...

Cam caught a Cat!

Hello All, I had to stay away from blogging to deal with few things. I was eagerly waiting to lay my hands on the keyboard to write something. I recently got a new Canon 60D DSLR (Finally!). I started testing both Camera and my photographic skills by taking pictures of some of the cats dwelling near my residence. The following are the few good pictures out of many unusable shots (trying to make my way through manual mode). Please do share your views to help me improvise. Thank you!

This was taken using a  Canon 55-250mm IS Macro lens at f/5.6 under moderate daylight.
This was shot with the same Canon 55-250mm IS Macro.

From the Third Eye

This is in continuation to my previous post with pictures of sky and hills. During my time there in Ooty, we visited some tourist attractions. One of which was the trip to Pykara falls and Ooty lake. We visited a Pine Forest on our way to the Pykara falls. I get to see few wild horses grazing over a small lake. It's a real treat for not just my eyes but for my camera as well. There were a lot of monkeys too. Most of the people were busy hiding their food and belongings from those mischievous creatures. I managed to get a portrait shot of one. But I had to wait for a long time for the monkey to settle at the right spot. I guess my pictures will narrate the rest.

I call this "The Idle Mischief" though it was idle only for a few seconds. My patience was paid well I believe.

A beautiful black horse trying to find some real grass to feed it's hunger. It looked really thin and starving for long. I tried my best to make it look better in the picture.

A landscape shot of a lake near the Pine Forest. Sunlight did a great job!

I felt like Sun was hiding behind that tall tree. At least, that is what I tried to capture. Hope I caught my mind on this picture.

It was a tiring day with all the walking, running and chasing the monkeys but I had a nice time. Thank you for reading and viewing!
